Amylopectin
A highly-branched, water-insoluble glucan and a main compenent of starch. Amylopectin consists of a chain of glucose residues (molecules) bonded together by their alpha-(1,4) linkages. In amylopectinm, branches are formed by alpha-(1,6) linkages. Amylopectin stains red to violet with the application of iodine.
