Abequose

Introduction

Dextrose is another name for glucose, D-glucose to be exact. The letter "D" represents the word "dextrotory" and simply refers to the structure of the molecule and does not have anything to do with dextrose, even though both words contain dextro. In chemistry, "dextro" refers to the right handed orientation of a molecule. In essence, the important thing to remember is that dextrose is another name for glucose. Dextrose (glucose) is a monosaccharide.
