Introduction

Fructopyranose is a type of fructose, the difference being fructopyranose is a fructose in a cyclic pyranose configuration (shape). A pyranose is simply a descriptive word meaining "any sugar with pyran ring structure: a cyclic (ring-shaped) form that ketoses and aldoses may take in solution. Fructopyranose is the more common form of fructose found in solution.
