Glycoproteins



A conjugated protein that contains one or more carbohydrate residues (molecules). Glycoproteins is a term that is used to describe proteins that are associated with a very small amount of carbohydrates. However, we loosely use the term disregarding the percentage and if we include protein-carbohydrate conjugates in general, we are referring to mucoproteins and proteoglycans as well.
