Disease & Nutrition

Logic tells us that the consumption of healthy foods has its associated benefits. When we are "run down", stressed, or ill, healthy foods play an important role in recovery.

Having temporary illnesses, such as colds, flues and other common infections, we can more quickly recover via a healthy diet and adequate rest.

Unfortunately, healthy foods are not always "healthy" for individuals with particular illnesses or conditions. There are a few diseases that are directly affected by diet. The severity of symptoms and even the progression of the existing disease can often be accelerated or decelerated by modulating the diet. Although we have more control over some disease processes with diet modification, there are others, which respond to a lesser degree. The significance is that, almost any disease can be hastened to some degree with diet modification. And for some, this can increase quality of life, and of course, life expectancy.
