Introduction

Starch is a general classification that includes any polysaccharides of the chemical formula C₆H₁₀O, where C, H and O are carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, respectively. Starch is a long chain or glucose residues bonded together in the form of amylose and amylopectin. Starch is the primary storage form of carbohydrate energy reserve in plants.
