There are some conditions being both unsuccesfully treated with stem cells as well as WIth question TO why these conditions are even being treated in the first place.

ALS - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

This devastating variant of MND is clearly something I truly wish stem cells would help. The problem is stem cells do not seem to be doing anything. You can look on a ffew sites that claim to have treated people with this disease, and the most I've seen is that it slightly improved thre symptoms (slightly removed).

But did they? I've spoken with a few patients who've a few clinics who've claimed to have treated with some success. But according to the recipient, they noted absolutely nothing.

More distressingly, is that some of the patients being used as advertisement, are unufortunately deceased. I've contacted 2 clinics i the Orient already, asking them why they still have photos of happy ALS patients on ttheir websites, when they've died, and within the normal prognostic period as well. In other words, I've not seen any lives prolonged in this area.

I can only sympathize with these patients and their families. On one hand, I can understand the ethos of trying ANY available measure for a chance at survival. On the other hand, it disappoints me that clinics are offering a treatment that is clearly not working, yet at such a high cost to families.

I've written to a few stem cell sales companies, asking if it would be possible for them to treat ALS patients for a small fee, since their profit margins would allow, but none of them have offered this.
