Imagine if business were selling a 'special machine' that you could buy
for you or for your family - a machine that
came with the possible claim it could produce food.
This machine would mean a great deal to you, especially if you or your family were
struggling to survive.
This machine would be very special to you - because it would be feeding you or your family.
Now, imagine that you speak to the company about buying one of these machines and they tell you,
"This machine may work either not at all, very little, or a fair degree".
Buying this machine would be very risky indeed !
Now, imagine if this machine were very very expensive. So expensive that you would have to either
borrow large amounts of money, raise the money somehow,
or spend everything you've saved over the years to buy this machine -
but still with NO acceptable degree of
proven success?
Now would you still buy this machine? This is a very difficult question to answer for many people -
especially those that do not have large sums of money or cannot obtain it.
Before we decide to invest in this machine, there are some things we would want to know:
HOW MANY machines have been sold BY THE COMPANY IN QUESTION and the SUCCESS RATE of EACH MACHINE
How much food it produces ON AVERAGE
HOW OFTEN this machine fails to produce food.
Knowing this information is helpful, because it helps us to calculate if
this machine is worth the investment.
The story we've just told is one about stem cell treatments today. This story will
definitely EVOLVE over time and by this I mean that treatment statistics WILL IMPROVE
as TECHNOLOGY IMPROVES. And

If I was going to invest in treatment, I would expect the clinic to have on paper for me to see and have
a copy of:
The TOTAL NUMBER of patients they've treated FOR A PARTICULAR CONDITION
Report ALL patient the SUCCESSES and FAILURES.
The DEGREE of EACH FAILURE and SUCCESS.
Any DEATHS OR SIDE EFFECTS reported or experienced, EITHER THROUGH TREATMENT, PROCEDURE, or
FROM THE CONDITION TREATED.
This DATA must be UPDATED with the treatment of each patient.
The above parameters are certainly the MINIMUM questions I would be asking ANY clinic or
medical practitioner whom I intended on seeing for treatment.
If you and your doctor or specialist have exhausted all other treatments and you've discussed
stem cell treatments, share this information with your doctor. These are helpful criteria
that will help your doctor form an opinion for you and will also give you more insight.
